Why I refuse to wear makeup as a fertility health coach

Some people compliment me for it, and others think I lack class and poise, but in this video, I explain why I refuse to wear makeup for personal and fertility health reasons.

As a health coach who specializes in fertility, I have personally decided to swear off chemicals and ingredients that get in the way of hormone health and conception.

These include talc, lead, PFAs, phthalates, and parabens, to name a few. These chemicals are also found in other beauty products, such as shampoo, body wash, and any and all artificial scents and fragrances, as well as cleaning supplies, soaps, and detergents.

As a woman, I learned early on that I hated the feeling I got when I removed my makeup. I felt ugly, like a downgraded version of my made-up self. I simply no longer wanted to feel this way, so as a personal experiment, I decided to go without makeup so I could restore a positive image of myself.

Once I got used to this, I never went back. This may not be for everyone, but it was definitely the right move for me. My refusal to wear makeup is nuanced and specific to me. I celebrate all walks of life for all women, and I realize that for many of us, makeup is an integral part of life that helps us feel our best!

I simply want to heal my relationship with my natural state and have a positive relationship with the aging process. A significant perk that I noticed once I hit 30 was that my ability to heal my hormones felt more manageable than that of my peers.

That can be for many reasons, of course, but I believe my lack of dependence on makeup, fragrances & other beauty products made fertility repair so much easier, which is why I wanted to share my perspective!

I also think, as women, we all have a deeply ingrained tendency to resent aging, and instead of fighting the process, I would like to be able to embrace it and give other women permission to do the same!

We do not have to be prisoners to dogma about aging, for it truly is a gift.
